Robert "Pug" "Olie" Arthur Olson, 86, of New Milford, died Jan. 1. He was the husband and best friend of Katherine Smart Olson for 61 years.

He was born April 6, 1926, in New Milford, the son of the late Arthur H. and Mildred Anderson Olson.

Mr. Olson was known as a devoted, patient, loving and kind husband, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather.

In addition to enjoying time with his family, he often enjoyed watching WWE wrestling.

Mr. Olson worked for the Connecticut Department of Transportation for 25 years, retiring in 1976.

He was a lifelong member of St. John's Episcopal Church in New Milford and a Gold Member of the Masons, as well as a member of the Odd Fellows, and a past member of the Eastern Star.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Bettina Popilowski ,and her husband, Allen, of New Milford; four sons, Robert "Bert" Foreman, and his wife, Margie of Orwell, Vt.; Richard Foreman, and his wife, Georgie, of Truro, Iowa; James Foreman, and his wife, Rilda, of Fort Kent, Maine; and Todd Olson, of New Milford; 18 grandchildren, to whom he was known as "Bepe"; 35 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; a brother, Donald, of New Milford; two sisters, Lorraine Schultz, of New Milford, and Barbara Carlson, of Vermont. He was predeceased by two brothers, Gerald and Kenneth, and a sister, Betty Coles.

Burial was in Center Cemetery in New Milford.

The Lillis Funeral Home in New Milford was in charge of arrangements.
