The Roxbury Land Trust is sponsoring a self-guided hike and outing at its Beardsley Preserve over the Fourth of July weekend.

“The Beardsley Preserve offers 138 acres of unspoiled woodlands with a spectacular cascading brook,” said Susan Payne, executive director of the land trust.

"We encourage the public to get outdoors, get some exercise and enjoy the magnificent beauty of these protected woods and waterways,” she said.

The Beardsley Preserve has two entrances: one located on the right off Route 199 about 0.75-mile from the intersection of Route 67; the second, off Moosehorn Road, about 0.7 miles on the right after the turn off Davenport Road.

A map that details how to access the preserve is part of a $5 packet of maps that is available at the Roxbury Land Trust offices, Minor Memorial Library, Roxbury Town Hall and Maple Bank Farm. Maps also available at www.roxburylandtrust.org.
