Minor Memorial Library in Roxbury will open an exhibit, “Across the River,” with a reception Feb. 27 from 2 to 4 p.m.

The show, which will run through April 6, will feature photographs by Colin Harrison.

While living and working Switzerland, Harrison was inspired by the “majesty of high mountains and the jewel-like beauty of Alpine flowers.”

Now that he is retired and living in Brookfield, he has used that inspiration to create color photographs, both abstract reflections and still life.

The themes of his work range from reflections in the waters of Connecticut to trees in winter, to skies and beaches and springtime woods.

Harrison’s photographs have won prizes in several juried shows in Connecticut and earned him accolades from noted curators and gallery owners.

The exhibit may be seen Mondays from noon to 7 p.m., Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursdays from noon to 5 p.m., Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the South Street library.
