“Dreaming in Color,” an exhibit of works by the late Roxbury artist Gertrude Barrer, will open with a reception tomorrow (Saturday) from 4 to 7 p.m. in Woodbury.

The show and reception will take place at Clapp & Tuttle Gallery, Middle Quarter, Route 6.

The exhibit, which will run through Oct. 31, will highlight her world view, mastery of color and form, from her beginnings as a lead New York City modernist through her life in Roxbury, and her collaboration with her husband and fellow artist Frank Russell.

The reception will feature a talk about the artist by Marc Chabot, a noted area art expert and collector, who knew her well.
