The New Milford Relay for Life Team Dragonfly, of Dragonfly Studios, is sponsoring a raffle to raise funds for the American Cancer Society.

The team hopes to raise $3,500, which will bring the total of this year's New Milford's Relay for Life fundraiser to $50,000, the most funds ever raised in town.

An artist's reception with the designer and builder of the grand prize -- a stained glass panel -- will be held July 27 from 7 to 9 p.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church on Route 109 in New Milford.

The grand prize is a 30-inch by 60-inch breast cancer awareness stained glass panel designed and built by Mark Tomascak of Dragonfly Studios in New Milford.

The design came together with help from some of Mr. Tomascak's local artisan friends, including Larry Livolsi, of Lorenz Studios in Morris, who was responsible for the mouth blown rondel "ta-tas;" Rich Tenore, of Richard A Tenore Finish Carpentry in Torrington, who designed and built the frame work out of Austrailian Lacewood and various other exotic woods; and Scott Schaake, of USA LED in Southbury, who back lit the stained glass piece.

The panel comes with an easel.

Other prizes include a king size bed and a handmade quilt by Helen McBride of New Milford (first place) and a $65 dinner for two at The White Horse in Marble Dale (second place).

The stained glass panel and quilt have traveled around the state and will return to New Milford July 29-30.

The drawing will be held July 30, with the winners to be notified by phone if they are not present at the drawing.

All proceeds must be received by the American Cancer Society by or before July 31 to be counted as part of this year's fundraiser total.
