Minor Memorial Library in Roxbury will open an exhibit of abstract landscape paintings by Ann Quackenbos with a reception Sept. 24 from 2 to 4 p.m.

The show, “Water Places,” will run through Nov. 17.

Inspired by the landscape of the Litchfield Hills, Quackenbos works by combining memory and observation.

Quackenbos has shown her paintings at galleries throughout Connecticut and New York.

Juried exhibits throughout the area have included her work.

The exhibit may be seen Mondays from noon to 7 p.m., Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursdays from noon to 5 p.m., Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the South Street library.
