Marty’s Café in Washington is presenting an exhibit, “Journeys,” through Sept. 30, and will include a reception Sept. 12 from 2 to 4 p.m.

The exhibit features recent paintings by longtime Roxbury resident Susan Gold Purdy, who works in oil, watercolor and pastel and whose work reflects the Connecticut landscape as well as sites she has visited in France, Italy, Mexico, and Morocco.

Purdy is well known as a cookbook author-illustrator and culinary instructor, but is also a respected visual artist who has been painting all her life.

The exhibit may be seen Mondays through Sundays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the 6 Green Hill Road café.
