Gorgeous mid-autumn weather, a stunning turnout of more than 600 runners, and it was Halloween to boot!

The 34th annual Kent Pumpkin Run, sponsored Sunday by the Kent Chamber of Commerce, had it all.

"The town is buzzing about this race now," exclaimed race director Dave Dunleavy, a Kent resident.

"The turnout was amazing," said committee member Lorry Schiesel. "The committee wanted to grow the race and it went beyond our expectations. At the same time, it still had the small race feel."

She credited Mr. Dunleavy as the first official race director.

"Having him at the head made everything work great," Ms. Schiesel added. "We look forward to next year."

The Greater New Milford Spectrum served as a co-sponsor.
