Public invited to flu clinics

The New Milford Visiting Nurse Association will offer several flu clinics in the coming weeks.

Clinics open to people 6 months and older will take place Oct. 11 from 4 to 5:30 p.m., Oct. 16 from 9 a.m. to noon and Oct. 25 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the VNA office, 68 Park Lane Road (Route 202).

A special family-centered "Say Boo to the Flu" event for those 6 months and older will take place Oct. 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Party Depot, 175 Sunny Valley Road.

Accepted insurances will include Medicare B, Blue Cross, ConnectiCare, and Aetna. Cigna will be accepted only for town of New Milford employees.

Flu vaccine is free for children who do not have health insurance.

Adults who do not have insurance will be charged $39 for the flu shot and $49 for Flu Mist.

Senior clinics will take place Friday, Oct. 5, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the New Milford Senior Center, 40 Main St. (register by calling 860-355-6075); and Oct. 19 from 10 a.m. to noon at Washington Senior Center in Bryan Memorial Plaza (registration not necessary).
