Program to explore night sky

Steep Rock Association in Washington will offer a family program, a walk through an expansive field to look at the night sky, Sept. 16 from 8 to 9 p.m. in New Preston.
The program will be held at Macricostas Preserve at 124 Christian St.
Participants should dress in layers (light jackets) and bring a flashlight or headlamp.
Hugh Rogers, a retired public school teacher with a lifelong interest in the natural world, will lead the walk.
He is a graduate of the North Carolina Outward Bound School as well as the Master of Wildlife Conservation program offered by CT DEEP.
Rogers, a member of the Rivers Alliance of Connecticut, previously served as a director of the Washington Environmental Council.
Attendees should meet at the main parking lot of the preserve.
