The New Milford Historical Society will present a program on collecting buttons of Connecticut April 9 from 2 to 4 p.m.

Laurie Martin of Bethel and Rachel Mercurio of Trumbull, who are members of the Connecticut State Button Society and who have more than 40 years of collecting between them, will lead the program that will focus on various buttons made in Connecticut and their history.

The program, which will take place at the Boardman Store at the museum at 6 Aspetuck Ave., will include slides, examples of historical buttons and information on preservation and displaying collectible buttons.

Admission is free for museum members and $5 for non-members.
