New Milford VNA & Hospice has hired Celia Pomerantz as business development manager.

In this capacity, Mrs. Pomerantz will identify strategic business opportunities for the New Milford VNA & Hospice and develop short- and long-term strategies to increase the agency market share.

Mrs. Pomerantz brings many years of marketing experience to New Milford VNA & Hospice.

She has worked in sales and marketing and new business development for Rich Pomerantz Photography, and was vice president of marketing for

White Flower Farm.

Her employment experience also includes mortgage banking at the former NewMil Bank.

An enthusiastic entrepreneur, Mrs. Pomerantz developed Chocolate Explosion Brownies, a line of gourmet brownies which was eventually sold to a national mail-order company.

A graduate of the University of Vermont, she lives with her husband, Rich, in New Milford. They have one daughter, Sara.

Mrs. Pomerantz is a trained hospice volunteer and has written a book about her journey through her mother's last years, "Alzheimer's: A Mother Daughter Journey."
