New Milford police are continuing their investigation into the Sept. 24 accident that took the life of Travis Lipton.

Mr. Lipton, 25, died that afternoon after a head-on collision between his motorcycle and an All-Star Transportation school bus on Picket District Road.

"Our investigative team is analyzing the evidence and the scene and speaking with witnesses. They are analyzing the damage on both vehicles," said Lt. Larry Ash, New Milford Police Department public information officer.

Lt. Ash said it would be premature to say if there were possible charges pending against the bus driver, Alicia Gardos, 49, of New Milford.

Jeff Woods, manager for All-Star Transportation's Dodd Road terminal, declined to say if Ms. Gardos had been suspended by the company.

"The accident is still in the hands of the New Milford Police Department, and to my knowledge no conclusion has yet been reached," Woods said Monday. "The driver is off the road pending the conclusion of the police investigation."

No students were on the bus at the time of the collision, and Ms. Gardos was not injured, police said.

Mr. Lipton's motorcycle was headed west on Pickett District Road when it collided with the eastbound school bus, which was making a left turn into a parking lot across from the community playground adjacent to John Pettibone School, according to police.

Mr. Lipton was employed by Kimberly-Clark Corp., which has a plant on Pickett District Road.
