Voices of Poetry, which serves the New Milford area, has announced upcoming events.

The group will play host to "Comfort & Joy II," an evening of readings by accomplished poets, Dec. 14 from 6 to 8 p.m.

The event at Bank Street Coffee House will feature readings by Melissa Croghan, Susie Hackel, Dimitri Rimsky and Rocco Russo.

In addition, singer Carol Leven will perform music accompanied by guitarist and singer Jim Palermo.

Local poets are invited to read their work -- either one non-epic length poem, two haikus or three limericks, with sign-up to begin at 5:45 p.m.

An afternoon of poetry and music, "Voices of Poetry/In a Minor Key II," will be held Jan. 12 from 2 to 4 p.m. in Roxbury.

The event at Minor Memorial Library on South Street will feature Kristen DeVoe, Tony Howarth, David K. Leff and Margot Schilpp.

Music performed by acclaimed multi-reed player Joseph Meo will be featured.

An afternoon of poetry and music, "Voices of Poetry/Under the Gunn II," will be held Feb. 22 from 1 to 2:45 p.m. at Gunn Memorial Library in Washington.

The event at the Wykeham Road library will feature poetry -- and some prose -- read by a panel of distinguished poets and writers, including Cheryl Della Pelle, Katherine Koch, Dimitri Rimsky and Mark Statman.
