Peter Miller Stewart, 27, of Danbury, formerly of New Milford, died unexpectedly Jan. 30, 2010.

Mr. Stewart was born Jan. 25, 1983, at Danbury Hospital, the son of Craig and Peggy Stewart of Danbury.

At an early age, he showed an affinity for all things mechanical. He attended Danbury schools and later attended the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute (MMI) in Orlando, Fla.

After graduating MMI, Mr. Stewart spent several years in the motorcycle industry and joined Farnbacher Loles in 2007, where he specialized in Porsche performance work.

Happiest in the outdoors, he looked forward to the summer trips he took with his family to Cape Cod. He also enjoyed family "guys-only" hunting trips to Vermont, where "boys could be boys."

Mr. Stewart had many friends but his greatest affection was for his family.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his grandfather, John W. Hoffer; a sister, Jayna Larkin and her husband, Aaron, and their children, Andrew, Alex and Madison, all of New Milford; his uncle, John W. Hoffer Jr., and his wife, Keri; cousins, John Hoffer III, Ali Hoffer, J.T. Taylor and Brittany Taylor; two uncles, Brad Stewart and Alan Stewart; and his aunt, Anita Joan Nesmith. He is also survived by his rescued dog, Rex.

Mr. Stewart was predeceased by his grandmothers, Patricia M. Hoffer and Anita L. Stewart; his grandfather, Joseph S. Stewart; his aunt, Christy McLean Hoffer; and his uncle, Gary Miller Hoffer.

The Green Funeral Home of Danbury was in charge of arrangements.

Interment will take place at St. Peter Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Peter M. Stewart Memorial Scholarship at Western Connecticut State University, Institutional Advancement, 181 White St., Danbury, CT 06810. Checks should be made payable to the WCSU Foundation.
