Palmer, who has been an artist most of her life, is known by many as one of the foremost ceramic artists in America and has shown her pieces all over the country for more than 30 years.
Katz, a musician, is a member of the original Blues Project and a founding member of Blood Sweat and Tears.
He also produced two Lou Reed albums in the early 1970s, both of which were Reed's most successful albums.
He is writing his memoirs for Lyons Press, due for publication in late 2014, and is a professional photographer specializing in photographing artwork, most prominently his wife Alison's ceramic inventions.
The couple have been married for 25 years and have a 3,400-square-foot studio where workshops for sculpture, pottery and music take place. They have also built a shed that houses a wood-fired kiln on their property at 48 Stone Fences Lane.
They are in the process of raising funds for a communal soda kiln that is being built between the shed and the studio.
