To the Editor:
On this 11th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the United States, I wanted to take a moment to thank our local heroes.
Our police department, New Milford Ambulance and fire departments are constantly out on the road coming to the aid of our community, and those around us.
This year has been filled with a number of very serious and emotionally taxing emergencies. We've had multiple pedestrians struck, some really horrific car accidents, and now this most recent house explosion. These are just a few of the emergencies they have responded to.
Most of our town's emergency services are made up of volunteers. These brave men and women give up their time to serve their community.
When you see them around town, take a moment to thank them. You never know what they just came from, or might be going to. A smile, a handshake, or even a wave as they drive their personal vehicles or emergency apparatus really means a lot.
A heartfelt thank you from a former emergency service provider, and New Milford resident ...
