To the Editor:

On behalf of the Korean War Veterans of Greater Danbury, I want to extend a grateful thank you to the hundreds of Greater New Milford residents who stopped by to donate to our Rose of Sharon fund drive at Northville Market, Stop & Shop and WalMart in New Milford.

The Rose of Sharon -- Mugunghwa in Korean, meaning `immortal flower' -- is the national flower of South Korea.

We offer it to donors during our yearly fundraiser in July to mark the cease-fire of July 27 1953.

A special thanks also to the managers at these locations who allowed us to set up, provided expressions of support and showed us many courtesies during the hottest July on record.
