The John J. McCarthy Observatory in New Milford will hold its next “Second Saturday Stars” program Sept. 9.

The program, “Experiencing the Great American Eclipse 2017,” will run from 7 to 9 p.m. at the observatory located behind New Milford High School on Route 7 South.

Several JJMO volunteers traveled to the path of totality of the solar eclipse last month.

The program will include the volunteers’ personal experiences both at the viewing site and of the eclipse itself.
