Nils G. Ridnert, 74, of New Milford, died July 17 at Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of 39 years to Marie (DeSantis) Ridnert.

Mr. Ridnert was born June 20, 1937, in Oland, Sweden, son of Maud (Genhammar) Ridnert, of Sweden, and the late Gustav Knutson.

He graduated from high school in Sweden. He was employed as a tool maker and machinist by Sonics and Materials of Newtown, retiring after 29 years of service.

Mr. Ridnert served in the National Guard with Company C, 102 Infantry Division.

He enjoyed watching Hockey, Soccer and NASCAR.

In addition to his wife, and mother, Mr. Ridnert is survived by three daughters, Kristina Ridnert, of Brookyln, N.Y., Luanne Sorensen, of Danbury, and Wendy Schulze, and her husband, Ron, of New Milford; a son, David Gore, of Clearwater, Fla.; five brothers, Carl Dick Ridnert, and his wife, Diane, Kenneth Ridnert, Tommy Ridnert, and his wife, Eija, Kenneth Knutson, and his wife, Karen, and Dennis Knutson, and his wife, Karen; a sister, Donna Martin; sister-in-law, Janeth (Svardstam) Ridnert; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The Green Funeral Home of Danbury was in charge of arrangements.
