Hiking, building camp fires and learning valuable survival methods are all part of a 10-week program at Two Coyotes Wildnerness School in Newtown.

The program, Coyote Village for Homeschoolers, teaches pre-teens wilderness survival, wildlife tracking, and naturalist skills, which the school feels will develop the students’ awareness of themselves and their environment.

According to the school’s website, “students develop qualities such as leadership, team building, emotional intelligence, resilience, confidence, expression, service, integrity and other foundational aspects of good character.”
