A 52-year-old New York man died Sunday, July 12 as a result of a motorcycle crash along Segar Mountain Road (Route 341) in Kent.

Alberto Richards of The Bronx, N.Y., died at Danbury Hospital, where he had been taken by LifeStar following the crash, police said.

He was riding a 2014 BMW motorcycle westbound, downhill around a sharp curve when the bike left the road, traveled up an embankment and crashed into a state Department of Transportation directional sign, according to state police Troop L.

A second motorcycle traveling behind Richards, driven by Brian T. Pagan, 27, of The Bronx, also left the road and went up the embankment, striking another DOT sign.

Pagan was taken by Kent ambulance to Danbury Hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries, police said.

The accident remains under investigation.
