The Town of New Milford now accepts electronic documents and land records for recording through Simplifile as a faster and cost-effective option.

“We started to do e-recording to keep up with technology, and it seems to be where things are going — so why not jump aboard earlier than later?” New Milford Town Clerk Noreen Prichard said.

“E-recording benefits our customers in the time process of receiving and returning the documents and in the fees associated with mailing deeds. It makes life easier and better for all,” Prichard said.

Once the documents are received electronically at the county, they are reviewed, stamped, recorded and returned back to the submitter through Simplifile in minutes.

Recording fees and payments can also be processed securely through Simplifile, helping to reduce payment errors.

If an electronic document is rejected for any reason, customers are notified immediately through Simplifile.
