A 7-year-old boy was saved from a near-drowning accident Tuesday at a child's party on Eastern Lane in New Milford, police said.
The boy's name was not released.
The boy went under the water in a family pool at about noon, New Milford police said. When adults at the party pulled the boy out of the water, they realized he had stopped breathing.
"Two nurses were at the party and began (performing) CPR on the boy. When police and paramedics arrived, the child was in cardiac arrest," Lt. Larry Ash said. "Paramedics continued CPR and the boy was transported by ambulance to New Milford Hospital."
Doctors restored the boy's heartbeat and his breathing at the hospital, Ash said. At 2:40 p.m., the child was being prepared for transport to Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford, according to police.
The home where the incident occurred is listed on Vision Appraisal as being owned by Raymond and Moira Curatolo.
