The New Milford Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice has been named one of the Top 500 Home Care Agencies in the United States for 2012. The 2012 HomeCare Elite is the compilation of the most successful home care providers in the United States.
Now in its seventh year, the market-leading review names the top 500 agencies based on performance measures.
This year those measures include quality of care, quality improvement of patient experience, process measure implementation, and financial management.
There are approximately 10,000 Medicare-certified home-care agencies in the United States.
New Milford VNA & Hospice has been named to the top 25 percent of home-care agencies for the past seven years.
This is the fourth time it has been named to the top 500.
OCS HomeCare, a product of National Research Corp., uses publicly available data from Home Health Compare and the CMS Cost Reports to create the HomeCare Elite List of agencies.
Andrea Wilson, executive director of New Milford VNA & Hospice, congratulated her staff on earning this honor once again, thanking them for "giving top notch care to our patients."
She also noted New Milford VNA & Hospice professional caregivers (nurses, therapists and home health aides) have "a supporting cast of conscientious office staff, involved board of directors, and committed volunteers who make this possible."
New Milford VNA & Hospice is accredited by the Community Health Accreditation Program.
It is a Medicare-certified Home Health and Hospice agency and is licensed by the state of Connecticut.
