The New Milford United Methodist Church has announced its Easter related offerings.

On Palm Sunday, March 24, a seven-foot tall wooden cross will be placed on the lawn of the church at 68 Danbury Road.

It will be loosely wrapped with wire.

During the week, the cross will remain empty.

On Good Friday, March 29, the cross will be draped in black as a reminder of the death of Jesus Christ.

Members of the church are invited to bring a flower for Jesus on Easter morning, March 31, and place a flower in the wire around the cross.

Easter services will be held at 6 a.m. in the church's outdoor Chapel in the Pines, in the sanctuary for a traditional service at 9:30 a.m. and in the sanctuary for a contemporary service at 11:30 a.m.

An Easter egg hunt will be held at 10:45 a.m.

In addition, members and visitors will see firsthand the results of the church's Give a Little Extra campaign to collect items for Social Services and the church's Our Daily Bread ministry.
