New Milford Public Library will offer a number of programs this summer: summer reading, teen and tween programs and more.

Registration for summer reading programs will begin July 6.

Children ages 1 to 11 are invited to participate in “Every Hero Has a Story,” while students in grades five through 12 can sign up for “Escape the Ordinary.”

In addition, an early literacy program for children ages 1 to 3 is available.

“The Bedtime Math Program” is open to preschoolers and older children.

The summer reading program will run through Aug. 14.

“Escape the Ordinary,” the library’s teen and tween summer program will run July 6 through Aug. 14.

In addition to the reading program and the weekly raffle, Way Out Wednesdays programs will be offered, as well as Monday Mayhem and Talent Thursdays programs, all of which require registration.

Monday Mayhem programs will include Minecraft events for kids in grades seven through 12 July 13 and Aug. 10 at 6 p.m. (device required); “Dungeons and Dragons” role play events for kids in grades six through 12 July 20 and Aug. 17 at 6 p.m.; and a handwriting analysis program and discussion of “Handwriting Analysis: Discover Your Own Vocational/Career Potential” with David DeWitt for students in grade six and up, as well as adults, July 27 at 6 p.m.

Talent Thursdays programs will include “Wax Resist Selfie” with Valerie Culbertson July 16 at 6 p.m.; “Cutthroat Kitchen” July 30 at 6 p.m. and “Fractured Fairytales” Aug. 6 at 6 p.m.

Way Out Wednesdays programs will include a circus workshop for kids in grades five through 12 with Matica Arts-Learn July 8 at 6 p.m.; a teen café for kids in grades six through 12 July 15 and Aug. 19 at 4 p.m.; “Fractured Fairytales” with TheatreWorks’ Joe Russo July 15 and 29 and Aug. 5 at 2 p.m.; “Geocoaching with Chris Fisher” for kids in grades six through 12 (bring a device) July 22 at 6 p.m.; and a Monopoly tournament for kids in grades five through 12 Aug. 12 at 2 p.m.
