The New Milford High Green Heat winter percussion group will host its annual USBands home competition Feb. 25 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the school’s arena.

USBands serves as a competitive circuit for scholastic band programs nationwide and prides itself in providing world-class performance venues and the best adjudication in the marching arts to thousands of students each year.

Over 700 high schools will participate in USBands events this fall and winter.

The home competition will feature performances from New Milford High School’s winter percussion group, as well as schools from the surrounding area in Connecticut.

Eleven groups are scheduled to perform.

Winter Guard performances will include a variety of musical pieces interpreted through dance, using flags, sabers, and rifles, and winter percussion groups perform a musical program enhanced with visual designs, props and sound effects.

Admission is $10 for adults, and $5 for students and seniors.
