The Sherman Library will exhibit the "Silk Works" collection by Gay Lynette Morris Aug. 2 through Sept. 26.

A reception with the artist is set for Sept. 12 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Morris's works are highly patterned, as she grew up looking at kimono in Karuizawa, Japan, at a time when women still wore kimono as every day attire.

Her works also reflect her ties to Jamaica and Australia.

The Sherman Center library is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
