Michael Murtagh, 69, was HVRHS graduate

Michael Anthony Murtagh, 69, of Sharon, died Feb. 19, 2013, at The Kent in Kent. He was the husband of Dianne Roberts Murtagh.

He was born July 27, 1943, in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., the son of the late John and Alice Hamilton Murtagh. He graduated from Housatonic Valley Regional High School in Falls Village in 1963.

Mr. Murtagh worked at Stop & Shop, and for the Berkshire Eagle, the Rutland Herald, the Transcript and St. Bernard's Church for 31 years.

He was involved in the community and was a member of the Sharon Fire Department, and a longtime member of the Amenia Knights of Columbus No. 827.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Murtagh is survived by two brothers, John Murtagh and Joseph Murtagh.

Kenny Funeral Homes in Sharon was in charge of arrangements.
