NEW MILFORD — The Merwinsville Hotel, Brown’s Forge Road, in the Gaylordsville section of New Milford Board of Directors are holding their fall pot luck dinner meeting at the hotel Friday at 6 p.m.

Bring a salad, side dish, or dessert to share and the Hotel will provide burgers, hot dogs and drinks. The event is open to the public.

The speaker for the evening is Pat Hare, a housing and transportation planner from Cornwall, talking about the HouBike Trail, a proposed 45 mile trail from New Milford north to the Massachusetts border. Hare has been working on the trail, along with its extension known as the Western Connecticut Greenway, since about 2006.

The HouBike Trail is a project of the Upper Housatonic Valley National Heritage Area. The trail connects the old river roads along the Housatonic River.

The Merwinsville Hotel Board of Directors has some board seats available. Anyone interested in joining the board could express their interest at the fall pot luck dinner meeting.

The itinerary for Saturday: 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. appetizers; 6:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. dinner; 7:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. meeting; 7 p.m. to 8:15 p.m., Pat Hare’s presentation on the HouBike Trail.
