The town of Washington has purchased 31 acres of land at 108 New Milford Turnpike with funds from the town's Open Space Acquisition Fund.

The property has frontage on Route 202 and Flirtation Avenue and contains a large wetland area and acres of hillside meadows.

The Conservation Commission will meet Tuesday, June 8 at 7 p.m. at the New Preston Congregational Church on Church Street to gather input on the stewardship and future uses of the property.

Sean Hayden of the Northwest Conservation District will be present.
