Martha Delohery Regan, 53, a former New Milford resident, died peacefully at her home in Los Altos, Calif., Jan. 27, 2011, with her husband, Jack, at her side. She was supported through a long illness by a large network of family and friends.

Mrs. Regan was born in New Milford Nov. 2, 1957, daughter of the late Ken and Jeanne (Floyd) Delohery. She graduated from New Milford High School in June 1975 and shortly thereafter followed her dreams to California, where she established herself in the San Francisco Bay area working for Silicon Valley startup companies Prometheus Inc. and Resound Inc.

After her marriage to Jack Regan in 1991, Mrs. Regan obtained her associate's degree from Ohlone College, developed a passion for real estate, and spent more than 15 years purchasing and managing multiple properties in the Lake Tahoe and Bay areas.

Mrs. Regan also served as an officer of the Bay Area Inventors Alliance, where she helped foster a communal spirit for information-sharing and new product development for Bay area entrepreneurs.

She is survived by her husband Jack of Los Altos; brothers Dave Delohery (Danbury) and Scott Delohery (Manila, Phillipines); nephews Bryan (California), Tyler (Florida) and Daniel (Manila); her special aunts, Sister Mary Theresa Floyd (Orlando) and Chris Floyd (Raleigh); cousins, in-laws, and friends across the country and around the world.

Mrs. Regan's family offered special thanks to their friend, Evie Werner, who was Mrs. Regan's primary caregiver. Her Aussie shepherds, Tessa and Patsy, miss her very much. Her gift for making friends wherever she went will be remembered by all who knew her.

Memorial celebrations of Mrs. Regan's life will take place in the spring in both California and Connecticut. Anyone wishing to make a donation in her memory may contribute to the National Brain Tumor Society(http://www.braintumor.org/giving).
