Marie M. Ventrudo, 90, of Brookfield, died Sept. 27, 2011, at Filosa in Danbury. She was the widow of Donald P. Ventrudo.

Mrs. Ventrudo was born Aug. 29, 1921, in Yonkers, N.Y. She was the youngest of 10 children of Charles and Mary (Carnelli) Moncalieri.

She moved to Brookfield in 1965. She worked in the late 1960s in the offices of Brookfield Superintendent of Schools.

Mrs. Ventrudo was a founding member of St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church, where she was a Eucharistic minister. She was a member of the St. Matthew Society and Hospitality.

She was also a former volunteer at Pope John Paul II Center for Health Care.

Mrs. Ventrudo was an avid reader and crossword puzzle and cryptograms solver.

She is survived by a daughter, Patricia V. Osiecki, and her husband, Richard; a granddaughter, Morgan A. Osiecki, of Bethel; a son, Donald M. Ventrudo, and his wife, Ellen, of New Milford. She was predeceased by a son, Robert C. Ventrudo; five brothers; and four sisters.

The Cornell Memorial Home of Danbury was in charge of arrangements.
