Marie Tarzia, 79, had family in New Milford

Marie D. Tarzia, 79, of Danbury, formerly of Norwalk, died June 26 with her family by her side. She was the wife of Michael G. Tarzia Sr.
Mrs. Tarzia was born June 30, 1932, in Norwalk, daughter of the late Samuel and Mary (Dominick) Testa.
She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.
Throughout the years, she was her grandchildren's No. 1 fan in the stands as she supported them on the athletic fields.
Her favorite pastime was competitive card-playing games between her and her sisters.
Mrs. Tarzia loved her family unconditionally.
She was a longtime member of the Georgetown Bible Church. She prided herself on being a Christian woman.
In addition to her husband of 60 years, Michael, she is survived by five children, Michael Jr. (Mike's Towing) and wife Joan Tarzia, of Brookfield, Nicholas and wife Shelia Tarzia, of Richmond, Va., Donna Barnas, of Branford, Mary Tarzia, of Ridgefield, and Chris and wife Sally Tarzia, of Richmond; numerous grandchildren, Michelle (Tarzia) McNamara, and her husband, Shawn, of New Milford, Michael III and Diana Tarzia, of Florida, Matthew and Ashley Tarzia, of Bethel, Nicholas Jr. and Brittany Tarzia, of Virginia, Leah Barton, of Norwalk, Paul and Marcelle Barnas, of Branford, Brianna and Christopher Tarzia Jr., of Virginia; numerous great-grandchildren, Cienna Marlie McNamara, of New Milford, Michael Tarzia IV, of Florida, and Matthew, Anthony and Guiliana Tarzia, of Bethel; three sisters, Elsie Imri, Jenny Holt and Patricia Grenier; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, Samuel and Michael Testa, and two sisters, Pauline Cusack and Theresa Cutrone.
The Green Funeral Home of Danbury was in charge of arrangements.
