Lois Perlowsky, 90, had served as nurse in the Army

Lois (Merck) Perlowsky, 90, of New Milford, died Dec. 24, 2010, at her home. She was the wife of the late Sigmund Perlowsky.
Mrs. Perlowsky was born Sept. 24, 1920, in Senora, Texas, daughter of the late James and Mary (Lacey) Merck.
She was a registered nurse with the rank of captain, serving with the U.S. Army during World War II and taking part on D-Day, June 6, 1944, in the Normandy invasion.
She is survived by a son, Roland Perlowsky, and his wife, Dianne, of New Milford; two grandchildren, Andrew and Nicole; and several nieces and nephews, including Pat Bedwell, and her daughter, Lee Ann Cheeseman, of Jacksonville, Fla., and Frank Perlowsky and Jonathan Perlowsky, both of New Milford. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Angaline Perlowsky, of New Milford.
Graveside services will be held at the Upper Merryall Cemetery in the spring.
The Lillis Funeral Home of New Milford is in charge of arrangements.
