Lillian Olene Lawrence, 92, formerly of Pocono Road in Brookfield, wife of the late Donald E. Lawrence, died July 2, 2013 at Candlewood Valley Health & Rehabilitation Center in New Milford.

Mrs. Lawrence was born August 8, 1920 in Woodsbend, Kentucky, daughter of the late Clifford and Bertha (Richards) May.

She attended schools in Kentucky and graduated from Morehead College.

In early years, Mrs. Lawrence was a legislative page and later an educator.

A resident of the area for the past sixty-five years after coming from Kentucky, she enjoyed storytelling, gardening, crocheting and most especially devoting her time to her family.

She is survived by nine children, William (Sonia) Lawrence, Ronald (Lisa) Lawrence, SueZ (James) Frank, Robert (Bonnie) Lawrence, Gilbert (Gail) Lawrence, David Lawrence, Donna (Lewis) Repstock, Kevin (Diane) Lawrence and James Lawrence; fifteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Lawrence was predeceased by a son, Richard Lawrence.

Graveside funeral service and burial will take place Monday, July 8, 2013 at 11:45 a.m. in Section 21 of St. Peter Cemetery in Danbury.

The family will receive friends Sunday, July 7, 2013 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave. in Danbury.
