The New Milford Public Library has announced its upcoming programs.

Emery “Ted” Roth II will discuss his new book, “Brass Valley: The Fall of an American Industry,” Oct. 7 at 6:30 p.m.

Roth will present a selection of his images of the Brass Valley.

A program to help parents better understand college funding options will be held Oct. 21 at 6:30 p.m.

Tom Polowy will offer a workshop to assist parents in how the financial aid system works, college funding options and ways to make college more affordable.

College essay help sessions will be held Oct. 26, Nov. 2 and Nov. 9 from 6 to 7 p.m.

Topics will include “Brainstorming: Let Your First Draft Flow” Oct. 26, “The Three Essay Parts: Be Specific” Nov. 2 and “Get Feedback and the Final Draft” Nov. 9.

A program, “The Civil War and Spiritualism” with Matthew Bartlett, will be offered Oct. 29 at 6:30 p.m.

Bartlett, an historian and author, will lead the program.
