The Gunn Memorial Library in Washington will launch the new Community Health Information Center with a special program June 7 at 6:30 p.m.

The library has agreed to serve as the "beta" site for the CHI model developed by New Milford Hospital, and hopes to replicate it in libraries throughout its service area.

The new CHI Center consists of current books, pamphlets and an online system and resource center designed to empower individuals to become better decision-makers about their health care.

Accessible from home, as well as in the library, the database includes full text articles, pamphlets, evidence-based reports, images, drug interaction sheets and videos, focusing on current medical information.

Attendees will learn how to access the center via the library's website and EBSCO Consumer Health Complete link.

For more information and registration, call

the Wykeham Road library at 860-868-7586 or visit www.gunnlibrary.org.
