To the editor:

Congratulations to the New Milford Zoning Commission for stopping the latest ugly addition to what could be a lovely entrance to the town.

I wonder how many of you reading this remember what a beautiful road Route 7 was? Old tobacco barns with a few small farms.

Lots of open space and corn fields stretching into the distance.

Then capping it all at the entrance where Interstate 84 would cross The White Turkey Inn, surrounded by a park with manicured gardens. Great food, too.

Good luck in holding back progress.

It will take commitment and awareness of town business but we can all enjoy it.
