Leonard "Lenny" LaSagna, 60, of New Milford, died May 14 at home after battling a long illness.
Mr. LaSagna was born Dec. 10, 1951, in Stamford, son of Eleanor (Jakubowski) LaSagna, of New Milford, and the late Joseph LaSagna.
He graduated from New Milford High School, Class of 1970, and went on to be a machinist and truck driver for several companies across the country. He traveled for years, seeing 48 states, Canada, Mexico and many other places.
One of his favorite places to work was Leahy's in New Milford, where he was treated not only as a friend, but also like family.
Mr. LaSagna loved to help others and always tried to live his life to the fullest. For those reasons, he had the opportunity to get to know a few famous people -- like Smokey Robinson, the Doobie Brothers, the Bee Gees and others.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Lasagna is survived by two brothers, Joseph LaSagna, and his partner, Lisa Palmer, and Michael LaSagna; two nieces, Kerri Buchanan and Sarah LaSagna; and a grandniece, Charlotte Buchanan. He was predeceased by an elder brother, Kenneth LaSagna-Logan.
The Lillis Funeral Home of New Milford was in charge of arrangements.
