To the Editor:
On behalf of New Milford Visiting Nurse and Hospice, I would like to thank many of our local merchants for their generous donations and participation in support of the "Taste, Sip and Shop Wine Stroll for Camp Jonathan," which was held Dec. 4.
This event, spearheaded by Nutmeg Olive Oil on the Green, was the first of its kind in downtown New Milford.
Participants visited merchants for wine tasting and discount holiday shopping.
The funds raised will benefit Camp Jonathan, our bereavement camp for children.
Camp Jonathan just celebrated its 20th year and has helped hundreds of bereaved children and their families deal with the loss of a loved one.
Camp is offered at no charge and is sponsored by New Milford VNA & Hospice and many generous individuals and businesses in our community.
Thank you to the Bank Street Theater, the Book Nook, Classic Liquors, Down On Main, Executive Cuisine, Golden Needle, the Gracious Gourmet, Joe's Salon, Monica's Corner, Nordica Toys, Nutmeg Olive Oil, Paul Morton Jewelers, Robertson Jewelers and Swank on Bank for their participation and generosity.
We were delighted at the positive response from both attendees and merchants, so we plan to hold the Wine Stroll again in 2015.
