Kohl's, Home Goods targeted for October

The sign is up at Litchfield Crossings, making it official.

Kohl's and Home Goods will be opening this year as part of the new shopping center along the Danbury Road (Route 7 South).

Construction began in April on the two anchor stores in the 169 Danbury Road plaza. The target opening date is October.

Christie Wolfe of Kohl's media relations said May 31 the company is not officially announcing the New Milford store's opening at this time.

Yet the sign says it all.

"We're saying Kohl's and Home Goods will be opening this fall," said Paul Scalzo, a partner in Danbury Road Developers, the owner of the plaza.

"Several other tenants coming to the plaza will be announcing in the next 90 days," Mr. Scalzo added June 2. "We seem to be getting good response from tenants who locate where Kohl's and Home Goods are anchor stores."

Signed at this time for the plaza are Big Lots, Petsmart, Panera Bread and Famous Footwear.

Already on site are an AT & T Mobility store, a branch of Union Savings Bank and the Western Connecticut Medical Group office.
