Kent Memorial Library is presenting a special exhibit and sale of a kimono collection through Oct. 31.

The private collection is owned by Falls Village resident Junko Hidaka, who inherited the collection from her mother, Mitzu Miyawaki, a Japanese dance instructor.

Fashion designer and Kent resident Jane Suttell Zatlin and Hidaka will speak on the subject of kimono, dance mothers, and Japanese aesthetic tomorrow (Saturday) at 11 a.m., after which, the entire collection will be on view and for sale in the reading room.

The collection includes about 40 kimonos and 40 obi.
