Minor Memorial Library in Roxbury will kick off “Every Hero Has a Story” summer reading program for preschool and elementary school children June 27 at 11 a.m.

Alexander, King of Jesters will perform at 11:30 a.m., followed by cake and an opportunity for participants to register and receive their materials for the program.

The program will continue for seven Saturdays at 11:30 a.m.

Programs will include Mr. Magic July 11, Caravan Puppets July 18, the Musical Petting Zoo July 25 and Fun with Rhythms Aug. 1.

Children who participate in the program will win books and prizes for visiting the library and for reading books

The program will conclude Aug. 8 with a finale program “Zoo on the Go,” a presentation starring medium-sized exotic mammals available to pet.

In addition, families are invited to “Movies and Pizza” Mondays at 4 p.m. for the duration of the reading program.
