Last year the organization headed by Kent residents Ben and Donna Rosen donated $100,000 to 26 local groups to help fund activities that benefit people in need, youths and community service providers.
"These awards make a significant contribution to the lives of people in the Northwest Corner," according to Ken Cooper, a Kent resident who heads the KentProvides awards committee.
Charitable organizations eligible for KentProvides grants must be tax-exempt under Section 50l (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Service and "provide social and emergency services, housing, educational and economic opportunities and enhance the cultural and artistic lives of low and moderate income individuals and families in Kent and nearby communities.”
Special emphasis will be placed on organizations that provide basic food and housing needs, emergency services and educational programs.
Applications are due by Sept 30.
