Police have charged a Kent man in the March 19 hit-and-run death of a 36-year-old mother of two in New York State.

The Dutchess County sheriff's office reported 57-year-old Randy Miles of Kent turned himself in March 24 to detectives, a day after investigators had tracked him down.

His vehicle had been found March 21.

Miles was charged with leaving the scene of an accident.

Deputies said Miles hit Concetta Eastman of Copake, N.Y. in Columbia County as she was leaving a product-selling party held at a home in the town of Amenia, along the Connecticut border.

She later died at Sharon Hospital.

Miles was being held in the Dutchess County jail.
