The Kent Singers, a small auditioned group of amateur singers, is recruiting new vocalists in all four parts.

Interested singers can visit the next rehearsal June 9 from 7 to 9 a.m. at Kent Center School on Judd Avenue.

The 40th anniversary spring concerts will be April 21 at 3 p.m. at St. Andrew's Church in Kent and April 28 at 3 p.m. in Bridgewater.

Programs have included early music, Baroque, classical and modern works, both sacred and secular.

Matthew Travis, choral conductor and music director at Trinity-Pawling School in Pawling, N.Y., will direct the Kent Singers this spring.

In addition, the group's founder, Jon LaFleur, will direct Franz Joseph Haydn's "The Creation" in a 40th anniversary celebration concert June 9 at 3 p.m. in New Milford.

Vocalists interested in participating in "The Creation" should attend a preliminary and required reading of the score Jan. 13 at Kent Congregational Church at 2 p.m. for women's parts and 6 p.m. for men's parts.
