Judith J. Rothe, 81, of Brookfield, died Oct. 12 at Danbury Hospital, with her daughter and son at her side. She was the widow of George W. Rothe Jr.

Mrs. Rothe was born April 20, 1931, in Glendale, N.Y., the daughter of the late Edward and Agnes Goldschagg. She lived in the Danbury area for many years and graduated from the Danbury High School evening division.

She was a housewife and also worked in many different occupations before retiring as a sales associate for JCPenney in Danbury.

Her greatest joy was traveling with friends and family and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was a member of Faith Church in New Milford and attended the Oratory of the Little Way in Gaylordsville.

Mrs. Rothe is survived by two sons, Stephen Rothe and Joyce Loschiavo, of Bridgeport, and James and wife Jennifer Rothe, of Safety Harbor, Fla.; a daughter, Carole and husband Luigi D'Arcangelo, of Brookfield, and eight grandchildren, Brandon Rothe; Jack, Jonathon and James Rothe Jr.; and Melissa, Rocco, Brianna and Vanessa D'Archangelo.

The Green Funeral Home in Danbury was in charge of arrangements.
