John Fagan, 82, had family in area towns

John Fagan, 82, of Brookfield, died at home May 4 surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Marilyn (Wood) Fagan.

Mr. Fagan was born Jan. 26, 1930, in Saranac Lake, N.Y., son of the late Edward J. and Gertrude (Lynch) Fagan.

He joined the U.S. Army in 1948 and served in Germany until 1952. After the service, he attended Henry Abbott Technical School.

Mr. Fagan was employed as a design engineer at Perkin Elmer Corp. in Norwalk, and retired from there in 1991 after 30 years of service.

After retirement, Mr. Fagan and his wife traveled throughout the United States and spent many winters in Fort Myers, Fla.

In addition to his wife of 55 years, he is survived by three children, Linda Rajcula, and her husband, George, of Danbury, Laura Weimar, and her husband, Randolph, of New Milford, and Gregory Fagan, and his wife, Karen, of New Preston; four grandchildren, Candice Jurgens, Cheyenne and Tanner Fagan, and Benjamin Weimar; two sisters, Jane Singer, of Atlanta, and Katherine Leheny, and her husband, Edward, of Milford; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Edward Fagan; and three sisters, Mary Sweeney, Gertrude Trowbridge, and Geraldine Cassel.

The Brookfield Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
